MEET THE COACHES

Seiichi Fujiwara - Hanshi

President Seiwakai & Goshukan International

Mr Seiichi Fujiwara is a Hanshi, 8th Dan Seiwakai and 8th Dan Overseas Director of the JKF Goju Kai having trained under the late Gogen Yamaguchi Hanshi and Shuji Tasaki Hanshi.

Rob Crawford - Kyoshi

7th Dan– Chief Instructor Goshukan South Africa

Rob is a Kyoshi, 7th Dan Goshukan Seiwakai  under Leo lipinski Hanshi.

Rob travels to Japan and spend weeks at a time, every year training under Fujiwara Hanshi both in Japan and elsewhere in the world, travelling to ensure the traditional Goju Ryu standard of Goshukan South Africa remains of the highest level.

He has trained and graded under Tasaki Hanshi and Fujiwara Hanshi and is an International Seiwakai Examiner

Rob is also an academic having studied both Law Degree  and Politics Degree at University.

Rob also boasts a WKF junior World Champion, his daughter, Alex.

Gary Mahnke - Renshi

6th Dan – Chief Instructor Western Cape

Gary is a japanese graded  Rukodan (6th Dan) Renshi in Seiwa Kai Goju Ryu, , graded under Seiichi Fujiwara Hanshi, Leo Lipinski Hanshi, Godan (5th Dan) JKF Goju Kai under Muramatsu Hanshi and all style panel of the JKF in Japan,  Sandan (3rd Dan) Goju Kai graded under Goshi Yamaguchi Hanshi,  and Peter Brandon Hanshi.

Gary travels to Japan every year to spend weeks at a time training under Fujiwara Hanshi both in Japan and around the globe.

International WKF accredited Coach - Dubai 2015, Registered Paramedic with the HPSCA, and Sports Massage therapist .

He started karate at the age of 6 and has trained and graded under some of the great Goju instructors, Shuji Tasaki Hanshi, Leo Lipinski Hanshi, Goshi Yamaguchi Hanshi, Masatoshi Shihan, Kikuchi Shihan, Peter Brandon Hanshi, Trevor Norval Shihan, Cyril Beeka Sensei and of course Peter Klipfel Shihan. As a junior, cadet and senior he has been many time champion and medal winner in local, provincial, regional, national and international all style tournaments. He represented South Africa for the first time in 1985 and won SA National all style Gold for the first time in 1993 and went on to win multiple KASA, GOJUKAI , AGKF and WKF South African National Titles as well as being an Africa Zone 6, AFGKF African and WGKF World medalist

With over 30 years experience in martial arts, he is a tactical Police officer and tactical Paramedic, specializing in hand to hand combat, weapons training, firearm retention and training, sport and combat shooting, physical fitness, aerobic training, core training, strength training, grappling and self defense.
